How to license MCPS production music from our library | Boost Music

UK & Eire

Licensing

Our music is pre-cleared for all media worldwide, in perpetuity and is available to license via MCPS Production Music under broadcaster blankets, your IPC agreement or via the MCPS rate card.

It’s straightforward to get a licence to use our music, but a valid licence must be obtained before your production is broadcast or distributed. You can do this through MCPS Production Music, who issue licences and invoices on our behalf.

All music used must be reported to PRS to allow our composers to get paid. Information is submitted either on a cue sheet for long-form programming, or via the PRS Licence Manager for other content such as ads, trailers & games.

Getting a licence

You can apply for an IPC licence here if you’re making long-form programmes or series.

For all other licensing options, including content such as ads, commercials, trailers & games, use the MCPS rate card via the PRS Licence Manager here.

Before you start, please bear in mind that the production you’re working on could already be covered under a broadcaster blanket, or the company you’re working for may already have an IPC licence. It's always worth checking with your team!

When applying for a licence you complete one application per production no matter how many tracks you use.

To do this you will need each track’s information, which is easily viewed by clicking the 'i' icon underneath the waveform of any track, and 'Cue Sheet' to the top-right of the subsequent screen. You can also download cue sheet information by clicking the ‘Q’ icon to the right-hand side of any track, album or playlist on the Boost player.

Once you have submitted your application you will receive a licence and subsequently an invoice from MCPS Production Music.

If you need further information or help getting the correct licence or filling out a cue sheet, just get in touch.
